Drive Slowly

The most effective way to stay in control of your vehicle during the winter is to slow down. If you slow down, it gives you more control on the wheel as well as more control while you are braking. If you need to brake unexpectedly, you can push the brake pedal and come to a complete stop easier than you would if you were going at a higher speed.

Maintenance

If your tires are worn or your brakes are squeaking, then you should get some service done on your vehicle to have optimal control of your vehicle. It is much easier to slip and slide on the road with old tires, so buying a new pair or snow tires will help.

Route Change

If you can choose your route, choose the one with the busier roads. They are more likely to be plowed than other roads. If you can avoid snowy roads, the easier it will be to drive. If you can’t avoid snow, then the shortest route is preferable.
