Winter Activities In New York City
Now that the holidays are over, it can be easy to get into a funk and feel down about the colder winter weather while we all impatiently wait for it to be over. But New York City is always bustling with activities, so don’t let winter keep you from exploring the city and making tons of fun memories! We have rounded up a list of different food joints, entertainment, and activities happening right here in NYC for you:

Food and Drink
- Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival: January 28th, 2017. Tickets are selling out fast!
- Fondue: Taureau NYC or The Fondue Chalet are great options.
- Steakhouse: Check out Peter Luger Steakhouse or Old Homestead.
- 200 Fifth Sports Bar: We hear they have over 100 TV’s!
- NYC Restaurant Week: January 23rd to February 10th, 2017.
- Standard Hotel Rooftop Bar: While the outdoor bar is closed during the winter, patrons can still enjoy the magnificent views at sunset.
- Jacques Torres Chocolates: Indulge in some of the world’s finest chocolates or a rich cup of hot cocoa.
Entertainment
- Museums: Experience the 9/11 Memorial, the Museum of Natural History, the Met, or any one of the multitude of museums NYC has!
- Westminster Dog Show: With events spanning February 11th to February 14th, you can make a long weekend checking out the impressive dogs at this annual event.
- Lunar New Year Parade and Festival: January 28th, 2017. Check out the parade and then browse the different activities happening at the festival afterwards.
- Catch a Broadway show or a NYC Ballet performance: Both venues have many shows throughout the winter months, so take your pick!
- Visit the Central Park Zoo: The snow leopards are a hit in the wintertime.
Activities
- Winter Jam NYC: January 28th, 2017. Activities like snowshoeing and arctic golf, as well as lessons in skiing or snowboarding are available. Equipment is provided, but feel free to bring your own!
- Ice Skating: Check out The Rink at Rockefeller Center, or the Bank of America Winter Village Park
- Sledding: Pilgrim Hill in Central Park or Inwood Hill Park are both great options.
- Empire State Building Run-up: Sprint to the top of the 86th floor of the Empire State Building on February 1st, 2017 at its 40th anniversary event!
- Wave Hill Cultural Center: Explore all that the Wave Hill Cultural Center has to offer on its 28-acre garden.
